Women try to do it all. Some do, yet with one essential focus missing; themselves.

"I wasn't always committed to leading a healthy lifestyle. In fact, for a while there, I was doing practically the opposite," says Wellness Coach, Debbie Pendl. "As a wife, mother, and business woman I would routinely put in 18 hour days to try to satisfy all of my family and job obligations. The last thing to not get taken care of each day? Me."

Like most people, Pendl thought there would be plenty of time to take care of herself later. She kept thinking life would change and things would slow down. In the midst of this waiting game, Pendl read, "The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People" by Stephen Covey. From there she realized that the life she wanted wasn't going to simply come to her.

"My healthy habits stuck with me during this trying period," says Pendl. "I made exercise, healthy meals, journaling, and spiritual reflection part of my daily routine. I didn't try to go it alone; I asked for help and many people stepped up."

As Pendl's healthy habits stuck and her realization that other women needed assistance on their own wellness journey, Pendl began a business in 2009. The business focused on events such as "girls getaways." However, a short four months later, Pendl had to became caretaker for both of her ill parents.

Two years later, her duties as a daughter came to a close and was able to see her business in a new light. "In the long run, those events - from the previous business - didn't make anyone any healthier," says Pendl. "I knew that in order to help women make true lifestyle changes it would take more than a girls' night out."

In 2011, Pendl became a certified health and wellness coach and re-launched her business. Enter, Debbie Pendl Wellness.

"I provide support, guidance, and encouragement to women who want to make healthy and lasting lifestyle changes," says Pendl. "The bottom line is that those who live a healthy lifestyle by eating well, exercising regularly and maintaining balance in their lives ultimately have more energy, resilience, and self-confidence that lead to more successful and satisfying careers and personal lives."

Debbie Pendl Wellness focuses on long-term lifestyle changes, and not a simple quick fix. Pendl is also certified in helping people with health challenges such as diabetes.

With 2013 off to a fresh start, Pendl looks forward to working on some strategic partnerships and plans to offer more worksite wellness programs, group coaching, and events.
