Blue Jean Queen
A local style blogger invites you to join the new jean trend with three ways you can get down with denim without looking like you're down on the farm.

Canadian Tuxedo or Bust for Fall!
Some may call it the Canadian Tuxedo while others may call it a Tex-edo. I like to refer to it as on trend. That’s right ladies, not so much gents, denim on denim is back and in full force. Only this time, lets be a little more careful not to pull a Britney Spears & Justin Timberlake circa 2001. We cried over that river and can all learn a valuable lesson from it.

If there is one thing we can count on for fall fashion, it’s denim. This year is no exception. With the plentiful amount of denim options, there has never been a more perfect opportunity to find your ideal fit or color. It’s time to get rid of the fear of full on denim and embrace our inner Canadian. Eh?

Denim Vest
I understand that the denim vest may bring you back to the times of wearing stirrup pants but it’s such a versatile piece that can be paired with almost anything. Not to mention, choosing a color that isn’t blue is another way to break the mold. I’m wearing the ivory denim vest along with a simple skinny jean all from Madewell found here in Cincinnati at the Kenwood Towne Center. I added some staple vintage accessories to top off the look to avoid what could have resembled a cowgirl.

Denim Outfit #1 Complete!

Chambray Shirt
One my friends makes fun of me for calling this blue jean button-up a “chambray” shirt to sound more sophisticated. This is one of my favorite pieces for fall and can be worn in multiple different ways. Throw the chambray shirt on with a dark wash jean, pair it with a black pant for a dressier work look, and last but not least layer it over a summer dress to transition into fall. These types of shirts can give you a range of options for the cooler months to come.

Blue Jean Denim Outfit #2 Check!

Denim Jacket
So the denim jacket is nothing new. We’ve all seen it and likely have worn it, but this year it’s more chic than ever before. My rule of thumb for those who are slightly weary about the denim on denim trend is to try wearing opposite denim washes of each other. Example: a light wash denim jacket can be paired with a dark wash jean and vice versa. Roll up your sleeves to create a little more visual interest and a chance to show of your jewelry.

Jean Jacket Outfit #3 Success!

To avoid looking like you’re about to round up some cattle choose jewelry that is more sophisticated and girly. This will keep your outfit from looking less like a costume and instead more like a Ralph Lauren catalog.
