Ashleigh Messer, owner of The Stash, a new boutique in Bridgewater Falls

073012FASHIONBy definition, a "stash" is a place where items of value are stored, usually in a secret, hidden place. So, it's fitting that Cincinnati's newest fashion mecca, The Stash, recently opened for business just north of Cincinnati in Bridgewater Falls.

Owner Ashleigh Messer says she opened in Fairfield Township, versus Hyde Park or Madeira, because she wanted to stay close to her family. "That's an important part of what keeps me motivated," she adds, with a friendly southern accent. "I loved the idea of growing relationships with the people in [my] community."

Messer says there was a need for a store that specialized in unique, flirty, quality clothing. That's why, in May 2012, she opened the store, which she calls a "shabby-chic" woman's boutique. Messer stocks a marvelous myriad of clothing and accessories from designers such as BB Dakota, House of Harlow 1960, Junk Food, Jack by BB Dakota, Glam, Esley and Flying Tomato, as well as several local designers. "I search hard to offer quality fabric manufactured in the U.S., and I personalize the shopping experience by providing exceptional customer assistance," Messer says. "I believe my clients like having a place to go when they need or want something special and beautiful."

For Fall and Winter, Messer will be introducing the new label Piper Gore, which focuses on casual Fluxus scares, and Gentle Fawn, which Messer calls, "simply beautiful clothing." But it's not all about the look or label for Messer. It's about budget, too.

"I also try to keep my client's real budget in mind," she explains. "I look for items my clients will look good in and can reasonably afford to add to their wardrobes." Messer says she loves sharing her love for fashion and style inspiration with others "I truly believe that my clients see that when they take their first step inside the store," she adds.

According to Messer, her first few months in business have been a huge success and projections are strong. "I'm just looking forward to making new friends and growing my customer base," she says. "I care about them, and I care about the fashion they care about."

The Stash is located in The Village, next to La Pinata Mexican Grill and Bar, at 3425 Princeton Rd, #109, Fairfield, OH. To learn more, visit
