When's the last time you've walked into a clothing store and someone sat down with you to discuss what you're looking for? That's the kind of service Mike and Carol Trotta pride themselves upon. According to this husband-wife team, they take the additional time to get to know their customers on a personal level to achieve the perfect look.

In a world of diminishing personal interactions, Mike says his primary focus is to provide products highest quality products with superior service. Before he begins designing clothing for a client, he takes the initiative to understand the background information about the customer’s profession and what he/she desires in a suit. "I have become a like doctor because once your clients find you they don’t want to leave you, so this becomes an extremely personal experience," Mike says.

This personal connection, Mike says, leads him to constantly think about his customers and improving the quality of his products. He attends two or three fashion shows per year to make sure he is staying current on the latest style trends and to draw new inspiration for his clothing. When he entered the business he was determined to create a brand that would be recognized for not only high quality clothing, but also for treating clients the way they deserve to be treated.

As a young boy, Mike says he overheard his dad comment, "A garment can have thousands of stitches, but if it doesn’t talk to me than it is nothing." Today, this concept is the cornerstone of the family business. Trotta says that a man or woman in a well-fitted suit will gain the confidence needed to be successful in their professional endeavors, and it's his goal to design the best clothing to fit their personality, lifestyle and needs.

Although he has been approached about extending his business into other cities outside of the Cincinnati area, Mike says he's happily declined. Reasoning being that he can better satisfy client needs under one roof, as he would lose the quality control with an expansion. Also, he feels a deep personal connection to the Tri-State after his grandparents moved here from Southern Italy.

The Trottas proudly boasts that his store was voted “Best Tailor” by Cincinnati Magazine. For more information about Trotta, visit www.mikeandcaroltrotta.com.
