Mommy and Me Boots
These boots were made for walkin' … and personalizing, looking fashionable, and even mother-daughter fun!
Cincinnati-based fashion designer, Bridget Davis, created the Zoubaby boot line because she "wanted a more sophisticated alternative to utilitarian, everyday rain boots." So, she created a streamlined look, developed a website that makes personalization easy, and recently launched the new business.
The name "Zoubaby" came from reinforcing the idea that the boots are completely customizable and "all about you, baby!" You get your choice of monogram style and color to make them "uniquely your own," Davis says. But she also wanted a twist, which is where "Zou" comes in.
The look, Davis says, was inspired by her desire to dress up the typical rain boot. She wanted her clients to look posh, but still protected from the elements - a functional fashion statement, if you will.
What makes her boots different? Other than being able to personalize the color of the boot and thread used for the monogram, as well as the font of the monogram, "[Zoubaby boots are] more fitted than wide-mouthed Wellies," Davis says. "Just because it's raining doesn't mean it's cold." Also, because of the way Davis' boots are styled, you can wear them with shorts, skirts and skinny jeans. "Now you don't have to worry about your fancy boots getting ruined in bad weather, and you still get to wear a really stylish pair of boots," she adds.
Davis says she designed the line to be worn by women who want fashionable boots custom-made to her liking. She also designed a girls and boys line for her clients' trendy tots. "It's a perfect reason to get some for Mother's Day," Davis says.
In fact, Zoubaby is currently running a Mother's Day promotion: from now until Mother's Day, you can saw 20% off of retail if you buy a pair of Zoubaby boots online and use the code MOMS20.
Zoubaby boots can be purchased either online or at a number of local retailers. Check out the list:
