Emily Hill, founder of Stop Traffick Fashion (STF), was inspired to launch her business in June 2009 to combat human trafficking. Her online boutique raises awareness, supports victims and
STF features fashion items hand-made by human trafficking survivors, which allows them to make a fair wage and begin a new self-supporting life for themselves. STF also sells merchandise from several other organizations, such as Freeset and NightLight, which work directly with the survivors to train them in a particular craft, and the organization helps market and sell the products.
"All STF products are made by survivors of human trafficking," says Hill, "and STF donates a portion of their revenue to organizations who work hands-on to rescue and rehabilitate women."
Also, by buying a product on Hill's site, you not only provide financial support, you raise awareness too. "STF helps you put your purchase power to work in a beautiful way," says Hill. "When you give an STF product, you can share a story of hope with your friends and family and help ensure a brighter future for families around the world."
So, consider being a Stop Traffick Santa this year as you shop for yourself and loved ones this holiday season. "STF has eye-catching handbags and jewelry to complement any outfit and get you noticed," says Hill. "Plus, it allows you to become part of these women's stories of freedom and hope."
