Comfort, Class and Philanthropy Want to flaunt your jeans with jewels or walk home dripping in free jewelry from Philip Bortz Jewelers? Read more about this lavishly comfortable fundraiser.
"We intend to give guests the most bang for their buck," says Cinny Roy, Eve Center's founder and executive director. The planning committee has worked tirelessly to ensure exceptional value for the $60 ticket, with elements including live music by Amnesia Lane, a full buffet-style dinner, drinks and prizes.
Guests will have plenty of opportunities to walk home winners with games like "pick-a-pocket," where players pay a set dollar amount to literally pick a prize from actual jean pockets that have been cut out and stuffed with prizes of equal or greater value.
The Bortz family will be lavishing lucky guests with items like a white gold Fancy Dia Pendant with diamonds, 14K White Gold Round Brilliant Diamond Stud Earrings, White Pearl and Diamond Bangle Bracelet and Geneva Swarovski Crystal Ladies Watches, in addition to loose diamonds and remounting services.
The Eve Center's motto is, "We've been where you are." It's a comforting call to the hundreds of women who turn to the faith-based non-profit for hope, emotional healing and support for any number of issues, including abortion, abuse, eating disorders, loss of a loved one, divorce, stress and more. In addition to one-on-one peer counseling, the women of Eve Center connect through book studies, recovery groups, resource center and educational seminars. All Eve Center services are no cost to clients.
Since the Eve Center's inception in 2003, the non-profit has seen incredible growth. The center offers two locations: Montgomery/Silverton, which is headquarters, and the second location in Price Hill.
"We depend on donations, and attendance at events like Denim & Diamonds and Cupcakes & Cocktails are essential and allow us to serve the hundreds of women who come to the Eve Center from the 10 surrounding counties, because they have heard this place is safe, extremely confidential, without judgment, supportive and caring yet challenging," says Roy.
One of the assets that Eve Center uses to help its clients is its peer-to-peer counseling program, Roy says.
"Our unique peer-counseling program by trained volunteers is about educating, preparing, activating and evaluating change in a woman's life," Roy says. "We care enough not to let our clients remain stuck from the loss, battles or hurts in their lives. Over and over, the women report life-changing results." More articles by this author
