Cincinnati is a little more fashionable thanks to two local ladies' styling business and blog.

If you haven't heard of Cincy Style Edit yet, then you're in for a treat. This blog launched just a mere six months ago but is chock full of fabulosity and fashion tips. Two friends, Marsha Ashley and Brock Maitland, who first met in a marketing class at the University of Kentucky in 2004, shared a passion for fashion that they just couldn't keep to themselves.

"We both had thought about starting a styling business separately off and on for years while we were still living in Lexington," says Ashley and Maitland. "I think this time the timing was perfect. One day we just said, ‘Let's just do it, let's build a blog and start this business!' In less than a week we had it set up and were posting away. It all just came from there."

The vision for Style Edit is to provide Cincinnatians with a platform to go to for style inspiration. The ladies find themselves constantly looking at many fashion blogs to gather new ideas, inspiration and to just simply be blown away. This is something they themselves wanted to bring to the Queen City fashion scene.

Being fashionable can come with a big price tag but the ladies know that not everyone has the money to spend on a designer dress. While they will highlight things they like from big designers they also try to keep the styles they showcase in an affordable price range.

"Our blog is different in that we try to include looks we do semi-regularly in the ‘Our Everyday' section," says Ashley and Maitland. "Though we die a million deaths over luxury brands and pricier items, we know that a lot of the people who visit our blog wouldn't have the money to buy it and a lot of times neither do we! We always try to include affordable options in the posts we do."

Readers get more than just a stream of pictures of the latest fashions, Cincy Style Edit features an online boutique that has items the girls love or have. It provides a way for readers to purchase items they like from the site rather than having to scour the internet for hours trying to find the pieces elsewhere.

The ladies also have a personal styling business called Style Edit where they essentially ‘edit' closets. It's no secret that many of us hoard clothes we never wear and probably won't wear again, yet it's still there taking up valuable closet space. Ashley and Maitland will go through your closet to find what should stay and what needs to be thrown out. They help organize your closet by purging your closet of things that don't fit properly. The price depends on how much work needs to be done but they offer services such as wardrobe overhauls, closet organization, personal shopping and special events.
