The Face Place One local lady is making it her full time job to make your face look fabulous. Her new Milford-based boutique has everything you need to primp and protect the skin you're in. ![]() Let's face it. Your face is one of your most important features. It's how humans recognize and remember each other. And one new Milford-based boutique, The Face Place (TFP), is open for business to make your face as fab and memorable as ever.
Owner Kathy Sutton opened TFP because she realized most women don't start caring for their skin until it's too late. Sutton dedicated her career to helping women reverse the damaging effects of sun exposure and inadequate skincare. She also provides education and products - some of which she formulated and manufactured herself - to protect clients' skin for the future.
Located in Milford, at 632 Main Street, TFP opened in 2010. The boutique offers skincare products, mineral makeup and chemical peels. In fact, Sutton offers lifetime monthly complimentary 30% glycolic chemical peels to clients who purchase four skincare products quarterly ($1,200 savings).
Her 30% chemical face peels are made from pharmaceutical grade Glycolic and Salicylic Acid. "These ingredients break down the thickening epidermis layer of the skin caused by sun exposure, wind, smoking and aging," according to TFP Web site. "The rapid exfoliation allows new skin cells to emerge at a quicker rate due to the chemical stimulation of collagen production."
In addition to offering a variety of products, TFP also hosts events. These events are great for a girls night out, or even a mother-daughter day. TFP recently held a "Martinis and Makeover" event at MJ's on Main in Milford where attendees could test and learn about products, while enjoying specialty martinis. Click here to learn more about it.
If you're a hostess with the mostest, TFP also allows you to host clinics in your home or business. Each guest gets a complimentary 30% glycolic chemical peel and a free mineral makeup makeover. Plus, each host receives 15% of the revenue from all guest sales.
TFP has also partnered with The Girl Scouts to create a Girls Scouts Program, which provides a skincare and makeup clinic to the young women. With a reservation of at least eight brownies above the age of 12, the mothers and daughters who attend pay $5 for about two hours of personalized instruction and demonstrations, and leave with a lifetime of skincare education.
The two hours include skincare education on the structure of the skin, how to care for acne, the benefit of antioxidants (with a potato experiment) and sun protection. Skin analysis with a special UV lamp for skin, a mud mask for the scouts, a glycolic chemical peel for adults, and a paraffin hand treatment for everyone is also included.
