A Fashionable Find in Over The Rhine
Her collection walked the runway for two seasons at Cincinnati Fashion Week, and now you can walk into Lindsey Lusignolo's new boutique in OTR. See what Lindsey has on her haute couture horizon.
Lindsey Lusignolo will use her new studio space in OTR as an office and as a reception center for her clients.

After her collection walked the runway at Cincinnati Fashion Week's second annual finale, Lindsey Lusignolo got a standing ovation. The audience spontaneously jumped to its feet at the end of her show, with proud acknowledgment of this young designer. Her collection was one of the most memorable parts of that evening.

For some, that might have been enough. Not for Lusignolo.

She didn't slow down after fashion week at all. Instead, she ramped up her work, moving from the glamour of that night to the opening of her own studio and design showroom in the 1300 block of Main Street in OTR. Luisgnolo hosted a VIP reception to officially open the space on May 20.

"I was in construction phase for so long," says Lusignolo. "But I really feel the space has potential for a lot of things." In just under two years, Lusignolo says her world has rapidly changed. She made the decision a few years back to strike out of her own after just six months in NYC at Aeropostale as a designer. She knew she was taking a risk, but felt compelled to do it, she says.

"It definitely takes a lot of guts, and some passion," Luisgnolo tells Cincy Chic.

With the support of her family, she developed her first line and started taking custom clients. She decided her niche was couture bridal and evening wear, and she got together enough pieces to show her line at the first year of Cincinnati Fashion Week. Earlier this year, CityBeat named her designs on their "Best of the City" list, and she graduated from Candace Klein's non-profit businesswomen lending and training course, Bad Girl Ventures.

"I am not stopping," says Lusignolo. "I am getting an intern."

Lusignolo will use her new studio space in OTR as an office and as a reception center for her clients. You'll find her there most days, she says, though she's currently taking clients by appointment only.

"I definitely have my eye set on New York, and my eye set on going bigger with bridal," says Lusignolo.

She says the space will give her a place to work on new lines of bridal and evening wear, while also showing off what's she's already created. She has plans to keep her showroom open to the public during Final Fridays. Prices of her line vary on the design.

"Really, I would not want to do anything else," says Lusignolo. "To me, this is success. To me, this is happiness."
