If Jean Robert invited you to his Table for lunch, would you go? Of course you would, especially when he's serving a gourmet four-course meal for only $14. The French Lunch Tray available at Jean-Robert's Table is Jean-Roberts way to add a bit of tres chic to your work week. And this new lunch option is one that will have you reconsidering ever packing again.

 

The renowned chef de-cuisine puts his magical touch on your lunch hour (or 1/2 hour) with a gourmet meal that takes only minutes to arrive. Lunch will never be the same after savoring tray items such as Salmon Mimosa Salad, Carrot, Cucumber and Romaine Lettuce with Lemon Dressing, Soup du Jour, Roasted and Confit Duck Leg, Spinach, Mushrooms And Bleu Cheese with Sautéed Red Potatoes and - not done yet - a bite-sized dessert, such as the White Chocolate Mousse and Flourless Dark Chocolate Cake. The French Lunch Tray menu changes weekly and is only available at the bar for a limited time.

 

I can hear you say it now, "I don't have time for lunch at Jean-Roberts." I promise you that it only took less than seven quick minutes from the time I ordered, for my tray to arrive. Perhaps you have another concern, such as "That sounds like a lot of food for lunch." In French fashion, the servings are the perfect amount, bite-size variety with big flavors - just enough to satisfy the appetite of any hungry downtowner. While it’s unlikely that you'll go into a food coma, a post-lunch jolt of French Press coffee never hurt anyone.

I experienced the French Lunch Tray with a friend and fellow PR-foodie, Amy Hunter of King Street Consulting. She also happens to be Jean-Robert’s sanguine publicist. Together, we oohed and ahhed, mmmed and WOWed over our well-portioned meals. I'm most certain we sounded like food junkies, but then so did everyone else at the bar, including chef and businessman Paul Sturkey, who dropped in for a quick bite, and a group of fashionable business men and women who had a European mystique all their own.

 

It’s one of those places where you’ll likely run into someone you know. It’s also a great place to bring clients for lunch, or beautiful people watching, if you’re dining solo.

 

Amy and I took our sweet time, toasting cold glasses of Pinot Gris, greeting passerbys and relishing over our affordable afternoon.

 

The four for $14 French Lunch Tray at the Bar is available for a limited time and only at the bar. No substitutions and excludes beverage, tax and gratuity. Reservations not required. Jean-Robert’s Table is open for lunch Monday through Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
