Keep it Tight Fitness: Lose the Towel
Our brand new fitness columnist shares how she plans to help you not only look better at the pool this summer, but also get your confidence and energy back.


Let's face it, ladies, while it's cold now, spring is just around the corner. Soon you will be walking through the mall and seeing all of the new bikinis and short shorts.

 

If you are like most women, you may have gained five or 10 pounds over the holidays. I know the feeling of being out of shape and covering up that new swimsuit with a towel, but you shouldn't have to try to hide those pounds at the pool. It's not too late to do something about it. You can have that lean, sexy body that you deserve, but you need to start now!

 

My name is Melissa Matson, and I am the owner of Keep It Tight Fitness (KITF) here in Cincinnati. I love to help women regain control of their lives and capture the dreams that they thought were lost forever — dreams of having confidence, energy, passion and feeling sexy!

 

I am a full-time business owner, wife and mother of six. When I started KITF, my dream was to help women just like me who felt that their lives were too busy to take care of themselves because they were too busy taking care of everyone else. Some of the women I train work out regularly and are looking for that edge to challenge them further while others feel stuck and are facing unwanted weight and shattered self-confidence.

 

My vision for this women's-only fitness facility was to give women a fabulous place to work out away from stresses of children and macho gym prowlers — a place that you can come to be inspired, challenged and educated.

 

If you are like most women, you have tried gym memberships, fad diets and miracle pills. The plain truth is that none of these strategies create long-term results, and it is not your fault. In my weekly column, I will be revealing the little known secrets and strategies that you will need to take back control of your life.

 

Think of a time when you loved your body, felt great in your clothes and had confidence to spare. How far back do you have to go? Was it before you had children, when you got married, or were you in college or high school? No matter how far back you have to go in your memory, you can achieve that same feeling again.

 

Here at KITF we can help you reach your fitness goals and coach you on how to finally eat the way you should. It's not about dieting. It's about a life-long lifestyle change. It should be simple, right? Eat less and move more. But we can't do it on our own. It's about community and support. It's about a sisterhood that you need to have in your life.

 

So follow my lead to get your body back and throw in the towel to show off your sexy self.
