Adding Pep to Companies' Step
Procter & Gamble and Heinz have named this locally headquartered promotion management company one of their top suppliers. Learn what makes the company stand out from the rest.

As the major global organizations they are, companies like Procter & Gamble and Heinz work with thousands of suppliers for every step of their process. Despite that vast competition, one marketing supplier has stood out from the rest.

 

For 2010, P&G named Pep, a promotion management and execution firm, as a Supplier of Excellence. And as Pep received this same recognition in 2008 and 2009, 2010's award made Pep the only company that has received the award from P&G three years in a row.

 

But P&G isn't the only company to recognize Pep's efforts. In 2009, Heinz named Pep Supplier of the Year.

 

So what makes this promotion firm so excellent and outstanding? President Dave Kroeger thinks it might have something to do with their mission. "We're very, very focused on making sure we deliver campaigns on time, on budget and on strategy for our customers," Kroeger says.

 

Beyond its mission, Pep also sticks to the three P's — people, process and passion — when it comes to their core values. "We truly believe we hire the best of the best people, and we make sure they get proper training to make them even better," Kroeger says.

 

Once they have the bettered best of the best, they hold onto those employees. "We take good care of our people, our people will take good care of our business," Kroeger says. So the company followed Dream Manager author Matthew Kelly's lead and started a Dream Manager Program.

 

All Pep employees list their individual dreams via a dream tracker. "Each month a new recipient is selected, and the company helps that person reach their dreams," Kroeger says.

 

When it comes to their process, Pep sets up standard operating procedures that are individualized to the client. "We have an internal system called Pep Connect that keeps track of all of the details of our individual campaigns that we work on for our customers," Kroeger says.

 

Even with all of the people and procedures, though, the company wouldn't function the same without passion. "We want to make sure that everyone in our company is extremely passionate about what we do and how we do it," Kroeger says.
