Julie Shifman had practiced law for almost 20 years when she decided she wanted something new. "I just wasn't excited to go into work anymore," she says.

But when she went to take that new career path, she struggled to figure out exactly what path to take. "Gradually, I stumbled upon the fact that all my friends were struggling with the same issues and realized that there was a market there to help women just like me figure out what they want to do next," Shifman says.

Now, Shifman helps women visualize and achieve their next stage in life through Act Three. And on Nov. 4, this motivational and informational resource for women is throwing Cincinnati's premiere women's event, "Imagine…then do it."

"Imagine…then do it" welcomes Tri-State women to an event that will inspire and empower them, no matter what their next stage in life. Beyond having fun and meeting other women who also are searching for what's next in life, this 9-to-noon event will provide the forum necessary to start the journey. In fact, one of Shifman's top goals for attendees is "that they take one small step toward reaching their goal before they walk out of the room," she says.

In addition to this one-day event, Act Three also provides every-day opportunities for empowerment and growth. "Our offerings are very individualized," Shifman says. Some clients need direction on what to do while others just need direction on how to do it, but no matter the situation, Act Three can provide the tools necessary to turn dreams into goals and goals into reality.

Some of those tools are the seminars offered by Act Three. Ranging in topics from "The New Age of Resumes" (Oct. 14) to "How to put Strategy into Your Community Work" (Dec. 3), these seminars focus on specific issues faced by stage-changing women.

"When planning our workshops and seminars, we think about, or hear from our clients about what is it that they're struggling with, and what is it that they want to learn," Shifman says. "And then we find the experts in Cincinnati that can deliver that content to them so that they can learn it in an efficient way."

Among its other offerings, Act Three provides a variety of workshops, including a couple that help get you back to speed on new technologies. Including "Computer Basics" and "Back to Work Workshop," these workshops allow you to learn skills necessary in the workforce in a non-intimidating environment.

For an even more personalized approach to achieving your own act three, the company also offers individual coaching with certified coaches. This customized support helps target your individual needs, from helping you match your talents to a specific career to helping you create a marketing plan for your new business.
