Break out Your Boots

Break out Your Boots
It's almost summer time, which screams country concerts, sundresses and cowboy boots. Read on to find out where you can go to find the latest boot fashions.

It's about time to dust off those cowboy boots, break into a country-western mood and get away for a weekend trip just five hours south of our beloved Queen City.

Located in Nashville, Tenn., you will find some of the best stores for cowboy boots so that you can look the part in your cotton sundresses and jean skirts, even if you are from the Midwest. Although these stores might be a little less than 300 miles away, it would be worth the trip for a nice pair of fashionable, authentic cowboy boots.

Katy K Designs sells new and vintage merchandise, including Western wear and 1950s style clothing similar to the looks that model Bettie Page and actress Jayne Mansfield used to wear.

Vintage boots are a best seller at Owner Katy Kattelman's namesake store, she says. The most popular are the early 1950s Acme styles and the late 1970s Capezio stack heels.

"I think cowboy boots are a classic style that are always popular with a certain segment of the population, whether Western is in style or not. That's the reason they are fun to wear," Kattelman says.1209KROMBHOLZ.gif

Boot Country

With five stores located all over the nation and the headquarters located right here in Ohio, Boot Country has two of their stores in the heart of cowboy boot central, also known as the honky-tonk district. This lower priced store offers a pretty large selection of cowboy boots. Where as, Nashville Cowboy carries higher-end boot and apparel brands.

The most popular boot brands sold at Boot Country are Masterson, Ariat and Justin. While Nashville Cowboy carries brands like Lucchese, Old Gringo and JB Dillon.

Owner Rick Blase started his business at the young age of 23 years old because he had "always loved cowboy boots, and there [were] not many places to find good quality and a large selection," he says.
