Collective Fashion This Mother's Day give your mom a shopping trip to remember and pick up some fashionable finds for yourself too. Learn more about the Kenwood Towne Centre's first Indie Collection Cincinnati. ![]() When it comes to style and fashion, it's always more fun to have unique pieces that double as conversation pieces. And this Mother's Day you can give your mom that style satisfaction complemented with quality mother/daughter time at the first Indie Collection Cincinnati.
Designed to feature handmade fashions from handbags to jewelry, the Indie Collection got its start last year in Chicago. After a successful event in the Windy City, General Growth Properties is bringing the event to their Kenwood Towne Centre location from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. May 7 and 8.
The event will showcase the works of local and international fashion designers alike, with an emphasis on Tri-State artists. "It's a great opportunity to shop for the perfect Mother's Day gift," says Kelly Koeller, business development representative for Kenwood Towne Centre.
To keep the shopping experience more intimate for you and other shoppers, Koeller and her team have been selective as to the participating vendors for the Indie Collection Cincinnati. "We really want the vendors to interact with the shoppers and make it more of a girl's night our or a girl's weekend for Mother's Day," Koeller says.
Turn to the local retailer of Otazu for the flashy fashion to make that girl time sparkle. This upscale jewelry line from Amsterdam will participate in the event to help you ramp up the "Ah!" factor of this year's Mother's Day present.
While focused on fashion, the Indie Collection Cincinnati also will include other items to pique your interest, so among the potential presents also will be Speaking Roses of Cincinnati. While this company might not help in accessorizing your mom's wardrobe, it will help add a little more spice to her vase. This company prints messages, logos and photos right onto live flowers to add that personal touch to any bouquet. So let a dozen roses spell out, "I love you" — literally.
The Indie Collection Cincinnati merchandise won't just have a wide range in products. It also will feature a range in price from $20 to $1,500, so there's really something for everybody, Koeller says.
For more information about the Indie Collection Cincinnati, check out the event Web page or head to Kenwood Towne Centre anytime between 10 a.m. and 9 p.m. May 7 or 8. The event will be held in the old Bath and Body Works location on the second floor near the food court.
