Beauty Bash with Buds Downtown’s Saks Fifth Avenue allows in-store makeup and skin care parties for a fabulous girlfriend get-together. So grab your friends and head down for a makeover. ![]() There's hardly a girl out there who is unfamiliar with Laura Mercier, Estée Lauder, Trish McEvoy and Bobby Brown. Although these women might not be your best friends, they do know how to throw a fantastic cosmetic party.
Cincinnati's downtown Saks Fifth Avenue department store is now offering a top notch — and free — opportunity to celebrate a birthday, a girls' night out, a bachelorette party and even a ladies work affair. The store throws two types of beauty parties for women to partake in that will help celebrate any "girlfriends" event.
The on-the-floor beauty party usually consists of about five to 10 guests who receive a free one-on-one color consultation and makeup application by a beauty expert. This experience, though it is not secluded, is the perfect scene to "experience the energy of the store," says Lindsey Huttenbauer, the marketing director of Cincinnati's Saks Fifth Avenue. The beauty parties can also be spruced up a bit with some celebratory champagne, if the store's budget allows.
This is "one of those priceless opportunities" where you and your girlfriends can find out the season's trends, Huttenbauer says. "Not only are you out enjoying time with your girlfriends, you're also hopefully learning something you'll take away from it."
The other cosmetic party option is a two-hour master makeup class taught in a private room to a maximum of about eight women. In the Saks makeup institute, professionals lead intensive training on how to apply certain makeup, and the makeup line used for the party is at the manager's discretion and the day that works perfectly, for both parties, is a Thursday night. Additionally, the experts can do a skin care master class instead of a makeup coloring course that uses lines like La Mer, La Praire, Dior and Clarins, to name a few.
"It's a great opportunity for girls to get together to do something different. It's pretty unique, I think, in Cincinnati to have this opportunity and this access to experts where you really can have an open forum to skin care, color, [or] whatever the needs and concerns are for the group," Huttenbauer says.
However, do not forget about Saks' "Beauty Week" going on between Feb. 25 and March 6. During this week, guests who spend $75 or more on any Saks purchase will receive a bag filled with an assortment of makeup and skin care samples. Check SaksFifthAvenue.com for the schedule of their upcoming beauty events during the week.
Now sit back, be pampered and feel beautiful!
