Haute Hair Hideaway Need that perfect cut to frame your face? One reader shared her hidden gem — a local beauty boutique where stylists are a cut above the rest and deliver a look that's just right.  When it comes to hair there are good days and bad days, but the stylists at the Michelle Connley & Co. salon are here to make sure the good outweigh the bad! Since opening at 2882 Wasson Road in Hyde Park back in 1999, the Michelle Connley & Co. has been owned and operated by none other than Cincinnati native Michelle Connley, accompanied by her crew of knowledgeable stylists.
Our Cincy Chic reader recommendation stated that "It's hard to find the perfect cut," but at Michelle Connley & Co., her favorite stylist Teresa Vaughn, "nails it every time." This might be because, unlike other salons where stylists may only have one specialty, the Michelle Connley & Co. gals can handle any hair-care task thrown their way. "All of our stylists are experts in both cutting and coloring hair," Connley says. "They're really good at what they do and there isn't one person who works here that I wouldn’t let cut or color my hair."
Most of the stylists that work for Connley have been in the business anywhere from 12 to 25 years, and they are always keeping up with the most cutting edge fashions and techniques in the world of hair. "Everyone here is very self-motivated," Connley says. "We try to go out to the big hair shows in Vegas or New York at least once a year and [the stylists] are always taking new classes." Some of her best cutters and colorists even have taught classes for such hair companies as Redken and Alterna. "The classes and shows motivate you and show you the new trends: What's coming up, what are the new fashions, color techniques and new color products," Connley says.
In addition to being on top of the current hair trends, Michelle Connley & Co. also stays on top of keeping clients comfortable and relaxed while having their salon experience. While many salons have a sterile, overly formal feel, Connley likes to keep her salon warm and homie with more of a "boutique-y" feel. "[The] salon has a boutique feel to it. We offer specialized services to meet the personal needs of our customers in an environment that is comfortable and relaxing," according to the Web site. From the front desk crew's remembering clients' names to stylists' helping customers achieve that Hollywood look tailored to their specific face shape and hair type, the salon's goal is to create an experience that will give clients the look they want and will leave them feeling as good as they look.
