Your skin is the first thing people see when they look at you, so it's important to keep it looking fresh and smooth. While an at-home skin regime is vital to the upkeep of your largest organ sometimes, it's good to get a little outside help, and the Skin Care Center at The Mandell-Brown Plastic Surgery Center in Montgomery is just the place.

At Mandell-Brown they offer numerous facials, peels, microdermabrasion and other treatments to keep your skin looking young and healthy or to reverse damage that has been done to the skin. Mandell-Brown's licensed medical esthetician Casey Linton gives Cincy Chic the skinny on her favorite treatments to revitalize skin.

For immediate results, Linton loves the SkinMedica Rejuvenize peel. This medium-depth superficial peel is used for the treatment of hyper pigmented skin, fine lines and wrinkles, acne, and acne scarring, Linton says. It produces an overall tightening of the skin, and helps skin produce collagen. After a patient undergoes three Rejuvenize peels (each three weeks apart), they can expect to see a 50 percent increase of collagen in their skin! Increased collagen production helps the skin build elasticity and fight lines and wrinkles.

With facial peels, the skin can be sensitive and flaky for up to five days after the treatment, so if you need to freshen your face but don't have time to deal with the peel, try an oxygen treatment. This treatment "infuses oxygen into your skin and helps with rosacea, broken capillaries and helps hydrate your skin to give you a nice all over glow," Linton says.

To help repair skin from the inside out, Mandell-Brown exclusively offers the Cell-Switch. Cell Switching is an age reversing treatment that rejuvenates the skin and its supporting structures. This treatment rebuilds skin from the inside, reversing sun damage, lifting, firming, and reducing age spots, according to Mandell-Brown's Web site.

And just because Mandell-Brown is a plastic surgery center doesn't mean patients will feel like they are sitting in a cold doctor's office while getting their facial treatments. "We go above and beyond," Linton says. "I try to make it more of a spa experience with hand and arm massage, hot towels, dim lights — the little things to make patients more comfortable, more relaxed."
