Chic Spotlight: Minxanista Veniece Hughes
Make over your idea of a manicure with this new trend. A local nail artist fills you in on how your nails can keep their chic for a week or longer.

Cincy Chic: You offer one of the most cutting edge nail trends, so can you tell Cincy Chic readers more about Minx?

Veniece Hughes, Tip Toe Nail Studio cosmetologist and Minx artist: Minx is made of a thin film, not polish. It comes in more than 170 designs and patterns that range from foil and sparkly metallics to armour, which is a clear film to protect nail surfaces from breakage. Minx can be worn on the natural nail as well as enhancements.

Cincy Chic: This trend is here to stay, and you can back that up. Tell us a little more about the guarantee with Minx.

Hughes: Minx lasts up to five to seven days or longer if you take care of your nails. Toes last four to six weeks. They don't come off the toes until you remove them yourself. 121409SPOTLIGHT2.jpg

Cincy Chic: What other benefits can women expect to reap with this new trend?

Hughes: With Minx application, there is no drying time, no chipping and no chemicals involved (GREEN). Minx is great for the winter because you can put your shoes back on and go. Minx also protects the nails against cracks and breaks in the natural nail.

Cincy Chic: This is for our Makeover issue, so how does Minx help women achieve the change they want?

Hughes: With no chemicals involved with the Minx application, it is safer than polish and Minx121409SPOTLIGHT3.jpg is also much different from traditional polish because of the fun designs. You can have custom-made designs to coordinate the fashions you already wear or may purchase in the future. Minx extends fashion to fingertips.

Cincy Chic: With all of the options for Minx, what have been some of the more popular styles?

Hughes: All Minx pattern and designs are fun to experience, but there are two patterns that stand out the most (eye catchers for sure): gold and silver lightning. Also, just added two months ago were red and blue lightning.

Hughes: Outside of doing nails, which is my passion, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I love hanging out with my daughter who is 5 years old, and she has had a Minx experience as well.

Cincy Chic: What do you love most about Cincinnati?

Hughes: Cincinnati's a great place to live because it's a great place to raise a family.
