I adore this bunny for all the obvious reasons. Being as that I am a woman of the pear shaped variety (I have junkage in my trunkage), I can appreciate round bottoms on just about any inanimate object.(You can win this bunny over at Hey Lola. Thanks Denae for the heads up.) The subject of body image has been on my mind ever since I was confronted with a supper skinny Demi Moore spread, with a decent chunk of her hip airbrushed out. I am sure most of you saw the same image in recent news. I take it we are now cutting off our thighs to spite our own asses. Don't we deserve better? Privately I criticize my body more than I celebrate it. Publicly I do my best to seize my confidence, dress in my best, and put my charming foot forward. Yet underneath it all there is a silent voice in my head telling me I should be thinner, healthier, and more youthful. I believe that is why I am so enamored with jewelry, because it is the one material thing that makes me feel beautiful without having anything to do with the shape of my body. Despite my mother's questionable and somewhat tipsy speech at my wedding reception, I actually do have a few accomplishments under my belt. It is crazy that after all these years of forging my own path, being an independent woman, and dancing on furniture, that I can still feel this way. Enough is enough. I am making a new promise to myself to be done with all that nonsense. I am going to embrace my big bountiful butt, the way Sir-Mix-A-Lot would have wanted me to. And I don't care how many dirty looks come my way. Whatever variety of junk you have, you should celebrate yours too. Read More at Florida Girl Meets the Midwest... Last update: 19-11-2009 15:40
