Chic Spotlight: Boutique Owner Ann Bowling
Fashion runs deeper than materials and style. Shopping can be therapeutic! For this local woman and her husband, a boutique helped them see the silver lining in the face of tragedy.

Cincy Chic: You and your fiance started Boutique Allie in memory of your step-daughter Allie Baker, who died in a car accident. Tell us a little more about Allie.
Ann Bowling, co-founder and co-owner of Boutique Allie: Allie was truly an angel, and she loved to shop. She had the biggest smile and was kind to everyone. She had a big heart and always cared about everyone's feelings. She is truly missed by everyone, especially her friends from Badin High School.
Cincy Chic: One of the reasons for choosing to start a boutique in Allie's name was because of her love for fashion. What fashions would Allie have loved most at Boutique Allie?
Bowling: She would love the Parasuco brand. The jeans are awesome and everyone loves them especially a lot of her friends. The tops are so unique that you can't find them anywhere but Boutique Allie. Parasuco has an Italian designer.
Cincy Chic: One of the more unique lines that Boutique Allie carries is the Scala line. Why should women know about this one-size-fits-all line?
Bowling: The Scala line tops have a lot of detail on them, and they are very slimming on. Several tops can actually be cut to make a different look with the tops. They will start with a 3/4 sleeve, and then you can cut it into short sleeve.
Cincy Chic: With fall right around the corner, what can customers expect to see on your racks to perfect their autumn attire?
Bowling: Good jeans are always a must, and we have awesome jeans — Parasuco, Anoname, Silver, 1921 and Cartise. We will have a lot of vests this year, some of which are reversible. We will have many different style tops that you will not be able to find anywhere else — Scala, Parasuco, Cartise, IDI, IFSEY and many more. We also have one-of-a-kind [formal] dresses where no one else will have the same dress as you.
Cincy Chic: What else should Cincy Chic readers know about Boutique Allie?
Bowling: We take pride in our store and want the best for our customers. We buy unique clothing, purses and jewelry.
Cincy Chic: When you're not in the boutique, what do you like to do to have fun?
Bowling: Golf, play cards and being with family and friends.
Cincy Chic: What's your favorite thing about Cincinnati?
Bowling: Going to Bengals games, Reds games and how friendly our city is.
