So, a lot has been going on with me in the last few months. Some very positive, some not as much. I've been trying to apply the things that Mary Claybon, my life and wellness coach, talked to me about. Especially when it comes to clutter in my house. She told me to break things down into how long I thought it would take to tackle a certain area and then do it. Sometimes when you look at things in a smaller scale they look so much easier. However, keeping the cluttered areas decluttered has been an ongoing challenge and i definitely still need to work in that area! I attended The Reid Technique of Interviewing and Interrogation through work. It's great training and is very beneficial for the job but also has some great techniques that can be applied to people in my everyday life. Hopefully, I can remember some of these techniques if i ever have a teenager of my own to deal with. I also just completed training to become a certified instructor through Ohio Peace Officer Training Commission. I can teach recruits at our police academy, as well as at outside academies like at Great Oaks. The first week of May, I took my dad on a wonderful trip to our homeland of Ireland. I chose a flight out of Cincinnati that had a layover in Paris. Everything worked as planned and we were able to leave the airport and visit the Eiffel Tower for a few hours. Thank god people speak English across the world or we would've never made it back to the airport in time! Ireland was absolutely beautiful. Everythiing is so green and the people are very friendly. We got to see many different castles including Blarney (of course I had to kiss it) and Trim Castle, where parts of the film Braveheart were filmed. I didn't care for the food very much but other than that, both of us had a fantastic time. I was on a roll for awhile working out everyday after work but have had a serious lack of motivation thoughout June. I had a doctor's appointment yesterday, and the doctor ever so tactfully reminded me that my weight has gone up each time he's seen me. Besides wanting to smack him for telling me that, I realized that I really need to get back my motivation and get back to the gym. Hope everyone is having a wonderful summer so far! Michelle
