Flying in Fashion with Posh Professional Bags
This local woman's design experience and flair for flying in style brought these practical yet fashionable travel bags to the Tri-State.

This woman's love for both interior design and being a stylish professional has led her business in several directions. As a decorator for the past 17 years and the owner of Le Petite Cottage, Sherri Kohnle frequently travels for her job.

Whether she is making house calls or flying to France for inspiration, Kohnle wants to make sure that everything about the way she looks is professional, even down to her travel bag. What started as an interior design business now offers travel bags that are both practical and oh-so-chic.

"I started carrying the travel bags because I travel for my business both to market and to decorate vacation homes in Michigan and Florida," Kohnle says. "I could never find a good carry-on travel bag that also looked attractive. I'm a decorator, so it's all about the look."

In addition to its interior design work, this Glendale-based business offers travel bags in many different colors and materials. Some of the travel bags are on wheels and look like a great tote bag. "My travel bags are truly made for the woman on the go," she says. "They can fit your laptop, a change of clothes and fit under an airplane seat."

Le Petite Cottage also offers a line of tote bags that can be folded flat and packed in your luggage. "They are great for a trip where you need to carry purchases," Kohnle says. "It can also be used daily while out and about on your trip, and you'll always look chic. They come in great colors and are very current."

Kohnle says it is hard to pick a favorite travel bag because she loves two different bags for different reasons. "The big, metallic tote folds completely flat to pack in the suitcase and weighs almost nothing. It then can be used daily on a trip when out shopping and sightseeing for purchases," she says. "The bag on wheels covers all the bases for a carry-on bag and to make a good impression as a woman in business."

Celebrating its second anniversary this May, Le Petite Cottage also offers furniture, window treatments, carpet, tile, upholstering and any redesign needed. "I never charge for house calls or redesign of a home. I also help realtors stage a home to sell," Kohnle says.

Kohnle goes to France every year to get what she calls her "French fix" for her shop. "What a lot of businesses call French design is not French at all. Going to France gives me inspiration and great ideas to add to my work," she says.
