Caryn's March Update PDF Print E-mail

I had a very exciting and busy month in March….. It started on March 2nd with Dr. Gibberman. He was so nice and his staff was awesome. I truly felt like I knew all of them my entire life, they were so friendly and I was very comfortable! After looking at my teeth, Dr. Gibberman decided the best course to take with whitening my teeth was to use a mouthpiece and bleach. They took a mold of my teeth for the mouthpiece and it was ready for pick up the following week –now that is fast!!! They were extremely polite and I plan to visit them again! I rate them the very top of my scale! I plan to have pictures next month. Also on March 2nd I attended my first Dave Ramsey “Financial Peace University” workshop. The workshop lasts until June 1st. Each week there is homework that you are responsible for. I have completed my first zero balance monthly budget for April and it was not as hard as I thought it would be (thanks to his online tools –which are included in the workshop). When I first heard that we had to do a budget I felt sick, as I know I need to do it but just the thought makes my stomach turn. What I have not been doing over the past several years is paying myself first –meaning putting some money in my savings account first then paying my rent, utilities, charity and car and then paying my other bills. When I did my budget I was surprised that I can do it all but putting it on paper makes it more real and keeps me more focused on not just impulse buying (I am a gadget freak and like to eat out a lot). Now that I have my budget, I plan to stick to it and hopefully in Dec I will be done with the credit card bills!!! The first thing Dave Ramsey addresses is a savings account, he says to work on getting a minimum of $1,000 in the bank (baby step) –Although I don’t have $1,000 to just throw in a savings account, I am working on obtaining this goal asap. What is neat in my budget is that I can make sure I put some money aside to obtain this goal that is reachable and this is exciting to me!!! On March 10th, I had my first session with my coach, Mary Claybon, RN, M.Ed. I was not sure what to expect at our first session but I have to say during and after our session I was very excited and ready to start working on my goals (not just setting them and doing nothing)! What I truly found interesting is when creating my vision, as organized as I thought I was, I really have never defined my vision in the detail it needed to be defined nor really defined the steps I needed to do to get these goals. Ms. Claybon helped me define them and make them more visual and because of this I truly believe I will reach them! I really believe she is going to be a huge part in my obtaining my goals and if you don’t have a coach, please call her -she is awesome!!!! March 18th was the last day of our Greatest Loser. I lost a little over 18 lbs. Although I didn’t win the money, I did make a lot of friends and learned a lot about nutrition and exercise. I have enrolled in the next session of the Greatest Loser, which starts on April 15th, and yes, I also signed up for the trainer too…. So, the weight should keep coming off. I have also been walking at lunch with two friends and also working out after work with a friend. Even when I don’t feel like working out, I have great support to kick me in the butt!!! I plan to win the next round of the Greatest Loser!!!! On March 28th…… this is the day I got my hair. Let me tell you I have lots of hair! I cannot believe the difference more hair makes and how natural it looks on me! My parent’s neighbor is a hair specialist and she was amazed at how real it looked, she just could not believe it was not my natural hair (now that is a testimony)! I am truly amazed by it! The entire Allusions staff is so welcoming and I really felt very comfortable with them. Susan did my hair and she was so fun! I just can’t tell you how amazing this is to me….. I would never have believed the difference until I saw it for myself. If you are someone or know someone who has any kind of hair loss, please go and visit them… they have all sorts of stuff that can help you… I have been so ashamed of my hair because it is disappearing but now I feel like a new person again! This is truly something I should have done a long time ago!! Also on March 28th, I went to Tuscany Salon and had my make up done. I have always been a person who has very sensitive skin and their makeup was amazing! I was surprised by how light the makeup felt (I didn’t even feel like I had any on until I looked in the mirror). I had no reaction at all to the makeup! My eyes were amazing and I learned some neat tricks to do. The staff at Tuscany Salon are very friendly and I can’t wait to go back!!! I have to say this was an amazing month and I know the next 9 months are going to be awesome and I am so happy to share them with you! I am truly grateful to everyone who has made this makeover possible! I just can’t thank you enough for everything! I am truly blessed! Until next month…….

You are doing great. I am so proud of you and your determination to meet your goals. It is fantastic. I will be at greatest loser to support you and to continue nagging you when you get down because of setbacks, because the progress is not going as quickly as you want or when you beat yourself up. Your progress and your dedication have been incredible and are an inspiration. You should be very proud of what you have accomplished. Keep looking ahead.
