Spicy Sesame Chicken Wings
Makes 8-10 servings
Ingredients
12 chicken wings
1/4 cup cornstarch
2 tablespoon flour
1 1/2 teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoon chopped green onions
1 tablespoon white sesame seeds
2 cloves fresh garlic, chopped
1/3 cup soy sauce
1 egg
Canola Oil, for deep frying
Dipping Sauce
Ingredients
2/3 cup Lingham chile sauce or other sweet chili sauce
2 tablespoon soy sauce
2 tablespoon chopped green onions
Method
-
Trim any excess skin off the chicken wings. Cut off and discard the wing tips. Then cut each wing into two pieces at joint.
-
In a bowl, combine the cornstarch, flour, sugar and salt and mix well. Add the green onions, sesame seeds, garlic, soy sauce and egg and whisk together to form a thin batter.
-
Place the chicken in the batter and mix well to coat.
-
Cover and marinate in the refrigerator for at least six hours or, preferably, overnight, stirring once or twice.
-
To prepare the dipping sauce, combine all of the ingredients in a small bowl and mix well. Cover and refrigerate until ready to serve.
