Sharing the Caring at Children's Hospital
Hospitals can be scary — for patients and visitors. But Cincinnati Children's Hospital has an innovative, online way for patients and loved ones to stay connected, minus the scary.

What do you get when you combine an online get-well card, a virtual hug and a blog of updates of current happenings?

The CarePages feature at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center offers a way for family and friends to share information and love during a hospitalization process.

For the patient and their family, they can receive emotional support and stay connected with loved ones and friends during a health challenge. Loved ones can stay in touch and be up-to-date without incessantly calling, as CarePages allow you to view photos, send virtual gifts and more, 24 hours a day.

"Using CarePages, you can create and update a free, private and personalized Web page where you can share your latest news with friends and family and receive messages of support," according to the Web site.

While many are concerned about Internet security, Children's Hospital promises that the CarePages feature is secure and private for you and the ones you love.

If you or someone you know has a loved one at Children's Hospital, visit the CarePages site or contact the Family Resource Center at (513) 636-7606 for computer access. Because not everyone is a computer wiz, Children's Hospital offers assistance. E-mail or call (888) 852-5521 with any questions.
